Camp Joy 2021: Updated Announcement

Due to the continued health and safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Camp Joy Board of Directors has decided to not move forward with Camp Joy as usual for the summer of 2021.

We have prayerfully and considerately deliberated the anticipated restrictions and limitations, the guidelines of individuals who live in congregate settings, and the average age and health conditions of our usual attendees as well as our volunteers. With Grace and continued vigilance, we hope that 2022 will allow us to return to our full-week residential camp.

HOWEVER, in celebration of our 40th anniversary, we are planning an alternative to the full week of camp, planned for sometime in the summer. Details and more information for registering for this alternative celebration to come, stay tuned!

Camp Joy at Rotary Sunshine Campus

Camp Joy is now in its 40th year and the 25rd year of partnership with the Rochester Rotary, who provide a charitable trust grant. Camp Joy and Rotary have a common goal of serving persons who are developmentally disabled.

The campus is located in Rush NY, 15 miles South of Rochester, NY. A camper’s disability is not the focus at camp. Independence and ability are stressed with every program in which they participate.
